Tai Chi for Healthy Body Healthy Mind
Course introduction
The sedentary lifestyle has devastating consequences to our health. According to a recent World Health Organization report, up to five million deaths a year can be averted if the global population was physically more active. People who are insufficiently active have a 20% to 30% increased risk of death compared to people who are sufficiently active. There is compelling research evidence that Tai Chi significantly reduces the risk for sedentary lifestyle-related mortality and morbidity; and improves mental and physical health and the quality of life.
Based on compelling research evidence, informed by exercise science and guided by exercise prescription principles and safety guidelines, ©the Tai Chi for Healthy Body Healthy Mind Program is designed to effectively increase muscle strength and endurance; reduce body weight and achieve energy balance; improve mobility, flexibility, coordination and dynamic balance; reduce stress, anxiety and depression; achieve mental and physical relaxation; and improve overall health, fitness and the quality of life for the general population. The program is highly recommended for the general population to improve physical and mental health, fitness and the quality of life. It is also recommended for health and exercise professionals to expand professional skills and improve the mental and physical health and wellness of their clients.
